Playground Elite
PROGRAM HISTORY The Wisconsin Playground Elite Girls basketball program has been focusing its strengths and resources on developing the individual talents and skills of players within a team context since 1998. The purpose of the PGE program is to give basketball players in the State of Wisconsin the chance to compete with other talented players from Wisconsin and neighboring States against the best players in Wisconsin as well as the entire U.S.A.
Years of success for the program from playing and winning many local, regional and various Nationally recognized Championships along with AAU National Championships keeps our program recognized as one of the top programs in the Country.
PGE welcomes all players and has great diversity for which our teams are comprised of along with quality coaches which gives players the cooperative and individual skills necessary to have a productive and quality career as a high school and possibly college basketball player.
The instructional and strategical methods used within the PGE program prepare student/athletes to play in a variety of basketball systems. Basketball instruction is facilitated by experience-based, contextual teaching strategies and learning situations.
PGE players are prepared to become responsible, productive members of a global community, ultimately responsible for their own destiny in both basketball and in life. We encourage all of our players to be the best that they can be on and off the court.
The PGE program and Coaching staffs work very hard to maintain a solid relationship with the area Varsity High School basketball Coaches. The PGE program offers the additional opportunities to compete against the very best and to be evaluated by College Coaches for recruitment during the spring / summer season.
The PGE successful Girl’s travel basketball program model has created opportunities for over 150 female players at this time to play at various Collegiate levels. Please see our distinguished Alumni list.
The PGE program now has 2 players participating in the WNBA as of 2019 (Arike Ogunbowale & Natisha Heideman). We welcome the bright future of players in our program to shoot for this same professional success.
